One of the most successful community festivals in Northern Ireland, the 19th annual 'Heart of the Glens Festival' caters for all age groups, from todddlers to grandparents.  This year's colourful programme includes the ever popular 'Theme Street Night', Ceili, the Lurig Run, the Family Fun Vintage Day of of course Ireland's longest 'Waves of Tory'.  Fantastic fun for all! Two Classes Added

Class 35. The Clydesdale Horse Society Shield
A Shield (which will be supplied and engraved by the Society) will be awarded to the best yearling or two year old colt or filly, registered or eligible for registration with the Society, not having won a Shield before in it's lifetime. The exhibitor must be a current member of The Clydesdale Horse Society.

Class 36. Young Handlers Class.
An engraved medal is presented by the Society to the best young handler aged between 12 and 16 on the day of the show who has not already qualified in 2010. The capabilities of the handler are to be assessed, not the animal being led. The qualifier will be eligible to compete in the final at the Royal Highland Show in 2011.

30-31 August 2010 - The Ould Lammas Fair, Ballycastle. Ireland's oldest traditional market fair.  Its exact origin is uncertain but one theory is that it began as a result of the occupation of the area around Ballycastle by the MacDonnell's of the Isles in the early part of the sixteenth century.  At the present day Fair, horse trading, street entertainment and market stalls attract thousands of people to Ballycastle

4-5 September 2010  NI International Airshow, Portrush. The beautiful West Bay at Portrush is the setting for another weekend of air displays, ground shows, exhibitions and loads of family entertainment.

1 - 2 October 2010 - Family History Festival Ballymoney County Antrim. In recent years, Ballymoney Museum has discovered that more and more family historians are arriving in the North Antrim area to study their ancestors.
